Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

EclipsPay is a payments app operated by Monopause Limited ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the EclipsPay app and website, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect

Fingerprint and face unlock are handled by your phone. Your biometric data never leaves your device; the app only receives a yes or no from your phone's secure hardware. We do not access your contacts, photos, location or microphone.

Why we use it

We rely on the need to perform our contract with you, our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. After you close it, Nigerian anti-money-laundering rules require us to keep transaction and identity records for at least five years. We delete or anonymise everything else.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords and PINs are stored as one-way hashes, and sensitive settings are encrypted at rest. Access by our staff is limited and logged.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to some processing, or ask for a copy of your data. You can change most details in the app. To delete your account, use Settings → Delete Account in the app or this page. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Children

EclipsPay is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly open accounts for children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
